Practices for June 2020
TCRC Practices for June 2020
- Sunday morning worship services at our normal time of 10:30 a.m. will be held in-person at the church with the following notices:
- If you are sick, have an elevated temperature, or have continuing contact with someone who is sick, please stay home and use the live-stream.
- If you are in an especially at-risk group (because of age, immune compromise, etc.), please stay home and use the live-stream.
- Those that come in-person should observe social distancing practices to the greatest extent possible. This includes (but is not limited to):
- Don’t congregate in the foyer or in the sanctuary either before or after the service; please proceed to a pew before the service and to outside the building after the service. The officers will be encouraging families to move outside after the service. Families can socialize outside as they desire.
- Every other pew will be taped off or otherwise marked as closed to keep an empty row between families that attend in person.
- Please sit with only your family and try to limit any close contact with other families as much as possible.
- We will not be using the normal in-pew Bibles or hymnals. Each family should bring their own copies of the older blue Trinity Hymnals to sing from. If you do not have one of these (or forget them that Sunday), we will give you a copy to keep or provide a handout with the song reprinted.
- The nursery room is open for use, but it will not be staffed. Please don’t gather in there, but you can use it for a quick diaper change or similar need.
- Masks (in accordance with the CDC recommendations) are encouraged.
- The offering plate won’t be passed; a plate or other mechanism will be provided at the rear of the sanctuary for people to give to the church as they walk in or out of the service. (The online option at Tithe.ly is also available for use at https://tithe.ly/give?c=1649525 or checks can still be mailed to the P.O. Box.)
- The Lord’s Supper won’t be served in June.
- Consistory will be looking into how we might serve the Lord’s supper for July.
- The Fellowship lunch won’t be held in June
- Consistory will be investigating how we might modify our existing practices to have a fellowship time for July.
- Sunday School won’t be held in-person for June. June is the normal summer month we take off of Sunday school.
- Consistory is hoping to restart Sunday School in July.
- Wednesday Bible Study will continue to be held virtually.
- For those that want to attend in person and observe stricter social distancing practices, Elder Brouwer will pilot setting up a secondary viewing room in the fellowship area downstairs (using a computer and projector to view the live stream). In addition to the practices listed above, it will observe the following:
- The seating here will be spaced out even further.
- You will not need to pass through the sanctuary’s narrow entryway to enter or leave the space.
- Masks should be considered almost mandatory for those attending in the fellowship area.
- Metal or plastic chairs used in this area should be wiped down after the service.
